Certified under the comprehensive tutelage of Alan Herdman, I have been teaching Pilates since 2008. Around 2000, ongoing hip and back problems led to Cortisone injections and almost to surgery. I then started practising Pilates in one of the first studios in Switzerland with Pilates apparatus. The improvement and relief I experienced were a revelation. Regular and concentrated Pilates practise successfully addressed the muscle imbalances that had been the cause of years of pain in a way that other training methods had not been able. In order to help others benefit in the same way, I finally decided to move from my career in Law and Management Consulting into teaching Pilates.
Pilates teaches you how to align your body, isolate & strengthen individual muscle groups and work them without straining other areas. Muscles grow more defined, posture improves, joints become more flexible. Pilates exercises are performed slowly and with concentration. Breathing and movements are coordinated to create optimal and lasting results. I work with a wide range of clients on their individual needs, ranging from remedial & rehabilitative instruction to training athletes. Following a thorough assessment, I develop a tailored and progressive training plan.
Since completing Alan Herdman's extensive and thorough Pilates training to become a qualified mat and apparatus instructor, I have continued with ongoing development with some of the industry's most renowned teachers – amongst others, Classic Pilates with Jay Grimes, Pre- and Post- natal workshops with Carolyne Anthony, Osteoporosis and Lower Back Dysfunction with Sherri Betz, The Franklin Method with Erik Franklin, Fascia work with Elizabeth Larkam author of Fascia in Motion, Neurological Conditions with Mariska Breland, Body Rolling with Yamuna Zake, a variety of workshops with Dr Brent Anderson President of Polestar Pilates Education. I am a Licenced Buff Bones® instructor, a Neurological Conditions Pilates Specialist as well as a Menopause Fitness Specialist.
