Monica Zamora

I am a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis Trainer, and a Mother. My background is in dance; I am a former Principal ballet dancer and performed at the highest level in theatres worldwide, serving also as a Governor to The Royal Ballet and collaborating extensively with the prestigious international dance organisation Prix de Lausanne. Throughout the incredible yet intense years of performing central roles and exploring ways to access ’the best of me’, I found myself navigating injuries at times and learned the importance of Health as the vehicle to support both my career in Dance and my journey in Life.

Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis Exercise Vocabulary

Over the past 16 years, the Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis Methods have helped me guide people with recovering from new and old injuries, move away from established patterns of tension in their bodies, move through and free from pain, and find a way to be more supple, more open and stronger in their bodies.

The Gyrotonic exercise vocabulary is unique and addresses the body and the person as a whole, and my aim is to help guide people to be more comfortably present in their bodies. In a typical class, I will guide you through breathing exercises to help you ‘arrive’, and we will then move through a tailored programme of physical exercises specific to your needs.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist

Craniosacral Therapy treatments help delve deeply into supporting your Inherent Health System. Through the Biodynamic approach, using gentle touch, I listen to the rhythms of tissue and fluid systems in the body and the so-called Three Bodies. My main focus is on supporting the emergence and unfolding of patterns held within and the return to a centring state of wholeness at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you.

Craniosacral Therapy is recommended to facilitate and support the safe release of compressive forces held within the body as a consequence of any impact in Life. This could be physical or emotional impact, including the safe release of trauma, forces held in the body from birth, or compression in the tissues from a fall. Treatments can address fatigue and anxiety, injury of tissue groups, nerve sensitization, digestive issues, TMJ disorders, and may provide relief from a variety of symptoms, including headaches, neck pain and lower back pain, among many others.

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle-touch noninvasive hands-on treatment suitable for all ages, and clients often feel relaxed and well-grounded after a session.
