I have worked with the body for almost 25 years and have helped many people with different lifestyles addressing a wide range of conditions. After embarking on many courses over a decade, largely aimed at decreasing pain, I completed a BTEC level 6 in Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage in 2016 at Jing Advanced Massage Institute in Brighton, and then went on to do a post-grad diploma in TMJ therapy. I continue to study bodywork techniques from world-renowned teachers.
Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage
My treatments combine a range of advanced bodywork techniques such as Trigger Point Therapy, Myo- Fascial Release, Sports Stretching and client self-help strategies that are very effective at reducing chronic pain conditions, increasing movement, relaxing and restoring the body.
Using a ‘listening touch,’ I aim to relieve pain, resolve structural dysfunction and restore mobility, whether from work or postural-related stress, sporting injury, illness or emotional trauma. Trigger Points, hyper irritable spots in skeletal muscle causing pain and limiting movement, can be deactivated, thus allowing freedom to function normally. I work with clients to determine the root cause of pain rather than just alleviating symptoms, and treatments are outcome-based.
Low Back pain, sciatica, TMJ disorder, fibromyalgia, headaches/ migraines, frozen shoulder, bursitis, sprains and strains, neck pain, RSI symptoms, knee injuries, and much more can be treated effectively in 1- 6 weekly sessions, with a marked improvement being noticed around week 3. To maximise benefits, home care advice can be administered with exercise where appropriate. More complex issues require longer. After such time, sessions can be monthly as part of a maintenance programme.
